Vintage antique Hemingray-9 aqua glass telegraph insulator which was screw on to a wood side mounts post. The Hemingray no.9 was a very popular pony style insulator and was design for rural telephone and telegraph lines. These were produced in mass quantities and are commonly found in the aqua color, also refer to as green. They were primarily for American telephone and telegraph companies from 1890 to 1940. The trade name and nickname that was given to these insulators was pony. They are extremely common and were made in the colors of Fizzy Blue, Aqua, and Clear. The witting on it is “Hemingray- 9 Made in U.S.A.” It is not in the best of condition one chip at the top, fleabites around the base, and about 6 of the points are broken off or chipped.
